Francine J. Lipman is a William S. Boyd Professor of Law at UNLV.Professor Lipman has written an article for the Spring 2014 issue of the ABA Section of Taxation's NewsQuarterly. The article is titled The Face of Poverty Is a Working Mother’s Face: Interview with Public Service Fellow Susanna Birdsong.
"The face of poverty is a mother’s face. Neither the path nor the math is challenging to understand. Forty percent of all households with children include mothers who are the sole or primary source of income, and nearly two-thirds of American minimum-wage workers are women," she wrote in the article.
